By doing that he was able to focus more on blocking in order to help produce the # 1 offense in the nation for his last 2 years in college. His yards per carry stayed consistent, which lets you know he was the same 1000 yard running back in a different offensive formation. 2005 -- Walter Payton award candidate... A brilliant first season in the Mustang backfield, breaking several school records ... after sitting out first game of 2005 campaign at Troy (coach's decision), rushed for 108 yards on 20 carries in first career collegiate start against Sacramento State, scoring one touchdown on a 24-yard run ... went on to break all-time school records for rushing yards (1578) and rushing TDs (16) in a season ...
