Resolved Question: BCS ramification to the super conference expansions?

Looks like the Big 12 is going to disappear and the Pac-10 is going to be Pac-16 and the Big-10 will go Big "random even number" most likely 14 depending on if Missouri, Rutgers, Norte Dame join. So is this the beginning to a playoff system for college football? Should Big East and ACC just merge to battle these super conferences for tv money?
